Our paediatricians offer individualized care tailored to each child's needs through both in-person and virtual telehealth consultations. Video telehealth consultations are available for children with ADHD and other co-occurring conditions residing in rural and regional Australia. Through strong partnerships with GPs and families, we have been able to extend our services to children in Western Australia, New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria. Child Developmental Clinic

The Child Development Clinic at Kindersave Paediatrics aims to provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and management of developmental, learning and behavioural difficulties for children aged 5-16 years old. Specialist assessment and management are provided for ADHD, anxiety, specific learning disorders, intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorders, behaviour and conduct disorders, and emotional concerns. Our goal is to support families help their children reach their full potential. We perform thorough initial assessments of learning, concentration and behaviour for your child - identifying any areas of strength or difficulty. We offer regular ongoing individualised management and therapy. Our service covers the following presentations.
Inattention, Impulsivity and Overactivity - we provide comprehensive assessment to identify all contributing factors and diagnoses for these symptoms including assessing and managing ADHD to support learning and behaviour.
Evaluation to identify a cause for learning difficulties and facilitating assessments (by an education psychologist) to clarify and assist with understanding of specific learning disorders, intellectual disabilities, dyslexia and academic underachievement
Addressing behavioural difficulties - diagnosing and managing Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Conduct Disorder
Anxiety Disorders - supporting management (in conjunction with psychologist) of Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Separation Anxiety, and Social Anxiety
Autism Spectrum Disorder - Autism diagnosis in WA is based on a paediatrician, a psychologist and a speech pathologist making independent assessments in their respective areas of expertise. The establishment of the final diagnosis and the severity of the problem is determined after correlating the information available from reports made by these three professionals. Information is collected through assessment instruments, questionnaires and direct observation of child's behaviour. Information is collected from class teacher and parent through direct interview or questionnaires. The child's class teacher should make contemporary observations while providing her report. After the paediatrician's assessment, parents are directed to consult a psychologist who has expertise in performing ADOS-2, the gold standard assessment for autism. A psychologist report that does not include ADOS- 2 will not be acceptable. The report compiled by psychologist and speech pathologist should also comment on intellectual ability and language skills to determine the level of support required. If a child referred for Autism assessment is found to have ADHD, anxiety or other behavioural disorders, these are first manged before an evaluation for Autism is considered in order to eliminate the confounding effect of these other neurobehavioral problems.
Please note that referrals for an assessment for Autism will not be accepted if the diagnosis has already been established through an assessment by another professional elsewhere.

Urgent Care

Urgent care clinics are planned in the near future to assist parents and children who have a reason to attend an emergency department for an acute illness that needs urgent medical attention but not severe enough to need an admission to a hospital. Common problems that can potentially be addressed in the urgent care clinic include fever, vomiting, rashes, respiratory problems, unsettled infant etc. This service is not suitable if your child has reduced mental status or is struggling to breathe. Calling ambulance to reach an emergency department is the most appropriate thing to do in this scenario.
Virtual urgent care for kids provided through video consultations will become available soon. After a detailed history taking by a paediatrician, you may be provided a management plan along with a review appointment or you may be directed to the most appropriate care setting based on the information provided.
We aim to respond to your appointment request within 90 minutes. While we make every effort to get to all calls as quickly as possible, during very busy times you may experience longer than usual and waiting times.
Walk-in appointments without a GP referral will be available to those who do not seek a Medicare rebate.
